A: HawkQuest memberships are renewable annually. Your membership will end on December 31 of the current year. Members will be contacted prior to the end of the year with an offer to renew their membership and an overview of benefits. It is customary for nonprofit annual memberships to be offered for renewal at the beginning of each new year. Q: How much of my membership fee goes directly to HawkQuest? A: 100% of your membership fee goes directly to HawkQuest. Our organization is supported by over 50 volunteers and we have only 4 paid staff members, so the majority of your membership fee is considered a donation to help support our birds (food, shelter, medical care) and our educational programs, the cost of which we subsidize through memberships, donations, merchandise sales and grants. Q: Who is included in the Family Membership? A: Your immediate family, consisting of the parents and any minor children living at home. This does not include aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, etc. Q: Can I have a separate membership card for each family member? A: HawkQuest provides one card per family, with the family name written on the card. This is how we track member benefits such as the events and merchandise discounts. All family members use the same card to take advantage of member benefits. Q: We all have different e-mail addresses. Can you send the quarterly newsletter separately to each of us? A: HawkQuest asks for one e-mail address as the official Family Membership point of contact. It is permissible for you to forward our quarterly newsletter to other registered family members at up to 3 additional individual e-mail addresses. Q: When will I get my first newsletter? A: The quarterly newsletter, "The Flyer," is published quarterly in February, May, August and November of each year. Check your e-mail for "The Flyer" during the first week of the month. Q: Can the newsletter be sent to me through the mail instead of e-mail? A: Not at this time - Hawk Quest encourages members to receive the newsletter electronically because it is an environmentally friendly method of delivery as well as it lets more of your membership fee be used to support our birds and our educational programs. Q: Now that I'm a member, can I visit HawkQuest at any time? A: HawkQuest is not open to the public; it is educational outreach only.
